MALAYSIA HOSTS OPENING OF IPACC, IPAMS & SELF 2025 IN KUALA LUMPUR

Kuala Lumpur played host to the official opening of the Indo-Pacific Armies Chiefs Conference (IPACC), the Indo-Pacific Armies Management Seminar (IPAMS), and the Senior Enlisted Leaders Forum (SELF) 2025 on 24 September. The ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Defence, Malaysia, YB Adly Zahari. It was also attended by General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain bin Jantan, Chief of the Malaysian Army, as host, together with General Ronald Clark, Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC), as co-host. The event gathered delegates from 27 nations to strengthen regional defence cooperation

Carrying the theme “Forging Synergy: Transforming Multinational Land Power Networks Through Open Fashion Contact”, this year’s program offers a platform for more than 160 participants to share expertise, exchange perspectives, and explore strategies to address common security challenges. Key activities include leadership forums, bilateral engagements, and expert panel discussions that emphasize collaboration and trust among Indo-Pacific armies.

As part of the highlights, a Counter Insurgency Warfare demonstration in Rawang showcased the Malaysian Army’s jungle warfare expertise, while a Spouse Program added a cultural dimension to the gathering. These initiatives underline Malaysia’s continued commitment as a trusted defence partner in promoting stability and cooperation across the Indo-Pacific region.
